Finished Lovely Complex

I just finished watching  lovely complex and the story is going really great. It wasn't what I expected because I thought that they both weren't going to confess to each other till a later episode but Koizumi realised her feelings for Otani first and confessed to him. I didn't know that it was going to be that fast. It was quite irritating that Otani didn't get the idea of Koizumi liking him and he simply brushed her confession aside thinking that she was joking. Their friends knew that Koizumi likes Otani and tried to give Otani hints that she likes him but he was so dense that he didn't get the idea until later episode. When he finally figured it out, he told Koizumi to give him some time to think about it but after giving it some thought, he rejected her. Koizumi felt hurt and later told Otani to forget about everything that happened as she was afraid to lose her friend and make things awkward. She even thought about giving up on Otani.

Things got a little complicated but she finally decided not to give up on Otani and still try to win his heart. It was very touching and there were many parts in the story where I cried. That's the power of anime haha. Sooner or later, Otani noticed how hard Koizumi was trying and he slowly started to develop feelings for her. He wasn't very good at expressing those feelings. During her birthday in one of the episodes, he didn't show up for her party. She didn't really mind because she got to celebrate her birthday with her close friends. Although it srill bothered her that Otani wasn't there. They all then went to the roof that night and watched the fireworks. Koizumi remembered that Otani brought her once to watch fireworks too on the roof and that was when she confessed to him. She started to get a little depressed from the memories but she then got a text from Otani saying to look behind her. She turned and saw Otani. He motioned her over and gave her a birthday present: a bunny necklace since she always had things that had bunnies on them. He also gave her a kiss. (^.^) It finally happened. The moment I have been waiting for! That was when he finally came out of his shell and kissed her. He was embarrassed of it the next day but soon recovered as he confirmed to Koizumi that she was his girlfriend.

At the ending of episode 21, Nobu (koizumi's friend) is going to a university in Hokkaido and her boyfriend- Nakao, seems okay with it. She left to Hokkaido to take an interview to enter the university.On the last part of the episode, it shows that there is going to be another guy who is going to make an appearance. He has black hair with red stripes in it. He passed by a fortune teller and she told him that he was going to have some woman problems. One with a woman slightly older than him and another one who is 170 + in height. It seems that things are going to get complicated between Koizumi and Otani.

Kohori

When it was time to decide their future courses, Otani wanted to go to a university and become a elementary school teacher as he liked kids. Koizumi fully supports his decision. She hasn't decided what course to take yet when she is in college. Her friend, Nobu suggested that she go into fashion since she has quite a skill in it. Koizumi now works part time at a restaurant and met Kohori. He was in the kitchen staff.  In the end things did get complicated as Otani was jealous of Kohori. Kohori is also an Umibozu fan and he invited Koizumi to watch the concert with him. Koizumi was already on thin glass with Otani beacuse he caught Kohori trying to kiss her while she was sleeping. She didn't want Otani to misunderstand but she couldn't say no to Kohori and miss out the Umibozu concert so agreed to go to the concert with Kohori.

Otani found out and told Koizumi that he wanted to break up with her. The reason for that was because he wanted to concentrate on his studies but he couldn't concentrate if he's always worrying of Koizumi. Koizumi was of course heart broken by it and asked Otani to forgive her but was rejected. Kohori then invited Koizumi to go to the Christmas eve party that was held by the workers in her work place. She agreed as she had no one to spend  Christmas with. Halfway through the party, she found that it was hard to enjoy herself without Otani around and left; at the same time, Otani also left his house to see Koizumi as he didn't want to lose her to Kohori. They found each other on the street and made up.

On the last episode, Otani went to take the entrance exams for entering the university of his choice and managed to get it. The last episode also shows that everyone will part ways and follow their own paths. Koizumi decided to become a stylist after modelling and seeing the relationship between a model and a stylist. She decided to follow that career path since she likes picking out and organizing clothes.

This anime was very satisfying and I have been looking to satrt a new anime and I guess I found the right anime. I am hoping that there will be a season 2 for Lovely Complex in animated form as there is already one in the manga. I will be reading the manga and see what becomes of their interesting relationship. I also recommend that you guys watch the movie. The plot is different but it is still interesting. Anyway, this anime is very inspiring who those guys out there who are shorter than girls they like and for those girls out there who are taller than the guys you like. This anime says that "Height does not matter!" And that is indeed true. So for those guys and girls out there, go for it! Don't worry about your height! Besides, you like the person based on what's inside and not outside right?
