Hyouka is a anime where four students: Hotaro Oreki, Eru Chitanda, Satoshi Fukube and Mayaka Ibara join The Classics Club in their school and start solving mysteries. Hotaro Oreki, is the detective in the story and always solves the mysteries. Oreki is can be described as a enerygy-saving sloth. He doesn't do anything that wastes energy and if he does, he does it quick. The mysteries that Oreki solved are usually because Eru Chitanda asks Oreki to do it. Oreki finds it hard to avoid Chitanda's requests and solves the mysteries to ease her curiosities.
The story starts as Oreki receives a letter from his sister requesting him to join the school's Classic Club as it in in danger of being dis-banned due to the lack of members. Oreki thinks that it would be great to join the club because since the club is not well known and he could have his own private space in school. When he went to the clubroom, he met Eru Chitanda. And that's when the story begins.
I personally like this story because of the interesting characters in it and the personalities of the characters. Enthusiastic Eru, Energy-saving Oreki, The Human Database-Satoshi and Manga-loving Mayaka. Even though different in many ways, they manage to get along. Mayaka and Oreki don't really get along particularly well but because of Chitanda and Satoshi, they manage to get along with each other. I am hoping that they would come up with a animated season 2 for Hyouka. Although there are a few chapters of it in the manga.
In the story, I have a hunch that Oreki like Chitanda. During Valentine's Day, Mayaka made chocolates for Satoshi and asked Chitanda to look after it. She left it in the clubroom and went to the library looking for Oreki requiring where was Satoshi. Oreki told her that he was on his way and she went back to the clubroom. She was shocked to see that the chocolate was missing and wanted Oreki to help her find it. Oreki in the solved the mystery and found out who took the chocolate. It was Satoshi. Satoshi unknowingly hurt Chitanda by taking the chocolate and Oreki was very angry.
Of course, there are many other reasons why I think he likes her. (~^.^~)
I really want to see if they actually end up dating. That's basically the main reason why I want season 2 to come out. But unfortunately, when I went on Google inquiring the release date of season 2, I found out that there won't be releasing season 2. They said that there might be an OVA though. The manga apparently released more chapters. I really like Hyouka and it is one of my favourite anime. The storyline of the story is really interesting and I like the fact that you would can also crack your mind to also solve the mysteries in the anime.
