Ruby,Weiss, Blake and Yang

This anime is freaking cool! I found it on chrunchyroll (go download the app) and I decided to check it out by watching the trailer. There are four trailers: red, white, black and yellow. It is an introduction about the four main characters in the picture and I am sure that you know which trailer belongs to who. R-Ruby, W-Weiss, B-Blake and lastly Y-Yang. Thus making the group RWBY. Ruby is the leader of the group and is highly skilled in combat. I am super excited to watch this anime (although it is quite different in animation form from other anime). The fighting and the weapons that Ruby holds are really cool and interesting. Recommended for those who like combat anime.  I will post again once I finish this anime. (although I highly doubt I'll finish this quick because of the piles of projects that has been assigned during the holidays... Sigh. wish me luck)

Kimi Ni Todoke Season 1 & 2

Finally Kimi Ni Todoke! I watched this anime a long time ago and I loved it sooo much! It's my favourite. The story goes about this shy girl named Kuromuma Sawako. She's misunderstood by all her schoolmates. They call her Sadako which is the name of a ghost in a horror movie called The Ring and because of her haircut and her timidness that those rumours got wild. From the word "Sadako" being just a nickname, it turned into her being able to see ghosts as well as summon them. being timid and shy, she couldn't speak out her thoughts as everyone around her avoided her. They ran away when they bumped into her mumbling sorry's as if they ran into some kind out spirit.

She soon met a guy named Kazehaya Shouta on the first day of high school. He was lost and since he was wearing the same uniform as her, she told him the way to school and was shocked that he replied her with a "thank you" instead of a "sorry". She was overwhelmed. That was the first time a person said thank you to her instead of mumbling a sorry and running away. She lived everyday of her life with the motto "a good deed each day" which was very nice. She helps out as much as she could everywhere.

Without her realising, Kazehaya has been watching her from far. Intrigued by her character, determined to be friends with her. On the first day of high school, when he said thank you, he turned around and saw something beautiful, he saw he smile. It still tingles in his memories constantly reminding him how beautiful her smile was. He was friendly to her which wasn't a surprise as he was friendly to everyone but since he was friendly to her, rumours began to spread about Sawako by the jealous girls that were in love with him.

Many things happened. She was able to open up to people after Kazehaya gave her advise to open up to the people around her and tell them how she felt. She was soon able to make friends. Her first real friends. Ayane, Chizuru, Ryu, Ume. She was soon overwhelmed by how she now fitted into her class as a class member and not some ghost. There are also some match ups in this anime. and you'll have to watch the anime to find out who goes with who. (Although the manga was a little more informative)

Later on the anime, many obstacles were formed. It was  frustrating to see that Kazehaya and Sawako didn’t understand their feelings towards each other making their relationship cold. Things got better but until that moment, I had to endure the frustration of strangling them both. The naim was amazing symbolizing misunderstandings. It was also super cute. The characters were also super interesting and the fact that this anime was comedy made it a bonus for me. The manga is still ongoing and I’m still waiting for the next chapter. It’ll soon get complicating. They will all the leaving for college. Separated from one another *cries

Oh and additional note. When you are watching the last episode of Season 2, make sure to watch it completely. If you don't, you'll miss some parts.

I never met my grandfather. My ye ye (my father’s father). He passed away long before I was born. What was he like? Did he like spicy food? Did he have any bad habits? I would never know. I heard very little about him from my grandma and my father. He was a drunkard. He drank various alcohol. Any type could think of- beer, rum, whisky. The only thing he didn't drink was wine. It was too expensive. My ye ye was also referred to as a simple man who was satisfied with everything he had. He loved good food and knows all the best places that offer him both good food and price. My father always told me that before I was born, my ye ye always talked about having a granddaughter and how he would tie two ponytails on her head every morning. It was sad that he never lived to see his wish come true. Her I am now, typing my thoughts about him. His granddaughter.  I was at first disgusted by the fact that he was a drunkard. Not only did he drink, he was also a womaniser, who cheated on my grandma with another woman but was never able to go all the way as my grandma interrupted. Is she a strong person? I don’t really know. With what I see and experience now, my answer would not be strong but would be described as an over believer, materialistic woman. She denies the fact that she is a materialistic person but deep down I know she is. But, even though my ye ye was like that, he also had good points and I wouldn't mind one bit meeting him if I ever go the chance.

My grandfather wasn't materialistic and I knew it very well. He was satisfied with what he had. He acknowledged what he had and was proud of it. Lifting his chin and head, he held them in the air; never ashamed. He didn't bother where he lived, how small the house was, how broke he was, he lived life to the fullest. How I wished my dad was like my grandfather. Although he doesn't admit it like my grandma, I know. He is definitely a materialistic person. There were so many evidence that show he is. “If I don’t know that shop that means it’s not branded.” Not enough prove? Well, then who the hell gives her daughter a pen for her birthday? Sure it’s Swarovski and all. What’s the big deal? A pen is still a pen and will always be a pen. You can imagine the look of disappointment slapped on my face. Maybe I was making it too obvious. I didn't like things like this. It was horrible that he gave me something I didn't want for my birthday. What do I want? It was simple-a box of macaroons, some doughnuts, a book from Typo, a necklace, even a bracelet, shoes, a craft book, new paint, a drink from Starbucks. Any one of these, I would be jumping around the room in delight. But no, I got a pen instead. He really didn't know anything about me did he? Well, what do you expect from someone who barely talks to his daughter and when he does, it was hardly a conversation. The only real conversation that ever happened between us was rare and even though it happened, it felt awkward and I never clicked with him. Maybe, me making the choice to stay with my dad was a horrible choice. I shouldn’t have done that. I gave up my friends and moved here thinking it the best for my future. Without releasing, I didn’t even think of the present. And the consequences of ignoring that fact was that it was hard to ever feel happiness when I step into the house. The feeling of always wanting to leave my grandma and dad and running back to my mother was huge. Being around them was depressing. The amount of negative energy that they emitted was unbearable. I guess that was why my mom left him. If I was her, I would also do the same. I mean, who would want to come home to a house filled with negative energy in every corner?

Acchi Kocchi (Place to Place)

Well my first comment is that this show is super cute!! The two main characters are Tsumiki and Io along with their friends- Hime, Mayoi and Sakaki. Hime is a quiet and absent minded girl who is very slow in understanding the situation; Mayoi is a spontaneous girl who loves to have fun and enjoys teasing Tsumiki about Io; Sakaki character is mostly the same as Mayoi and they get along really well.

 

Tsumiki is a quiet girl who hardly smiles. She is also short and has very long hair. At times, animated cat ears will pop up making her look absolutely adorable since she already looks like her cat. (from her size) Everday
when she goes to school, she waits for Io who passes the same route she takes to school and walks to school with him. She has a crush on Io and that was not surprising since Io was suppose to be popular with the girls in his school.

Io is tall as well as talented. He is skilled in cooking as well as sports. Does he like Tsumiki? I don't ikknow. Although there are some parts of the anime where he shows interests in Tsumiki saying that he would love to see her smile. Although there was one part of the episode where he seemed to realise his feelings towards tsumiki. Or was is suppose to describe something else? He enjoys spending time with Tsumiki and when he teams up with her when it comes to games, they become unstoppable. He also works at Sakaki's family's cake shop.

Mayoi and Sakaki seem to understand that Tsumiki and Io have feelings for each other and will always try to make them spend time with each other. Although Tsumiki and Io are still trying to figure out their feelings, they will be just fine. Overall, This anime is ADORABLE! Will there be a season 2? I'm not so sure about it.

Black Butler Season 1 & 2

I've been watching a few anime and I finished Black Butler season 1 & 2. Apparently there will be a season 3 according to a certain website but I am not very sure. This anime Black Butler tells a stroy about a young noble named Ciel Phantomhive. His family was killed in a fire and he was the only one who survived. Even though he did, he was humiliated and swore to take revenge on those who killed his parents and humiliated him. He made a contract with a demon named Sebastion and the contract states that Sebastion will help Ciel with his revenge in return for his soul. Sebastion became the mansion's butler and he hired other servants as well. Although these servants were not normal servants for they had amazing combat ability and strength. Finnian has superhuman strength, Mey-Rin has amazing shooting skills and never misses her target and Baldroy used to be a soldier. There is also another member named Tanaka.

Ciel is engaged to a young girl named Lady Elizabeth. They had known each other since they were very little. Ciel also has an aunt named Madam Red. She is called that for her red hair and her fondness of red. Although soon, she was killed for going crazy after her sister (Ciel's mother),  her husband and her child, as well as Ciel's father passed away.

Many interesting charcters keep poping out in this anime series. Soon the anime revealed the person who murdered Ciel's parents. It was an angel named Angela who has the power to switch gender. Angels do not have gender ya'know. There are also Death Gods in this anime in other words, Reapers. They collect the souls of the dead. They also prioritize their glasses who seem to be very important to them.

In the end of season 1, it shows that Ciel has completed his revenge (after killing an angel. yes angels are evil in this show.) and Sebastion was about to devour his soul, but in the beginning of season 2, Ciel was... ALIVE? It was really confusing and I couldn't stand the fact that I didn't understand what was happening and googled it up. Everything beacme clear after seeing the fifth episode in season 2. Season 2 also introduces new chacracters. Another noble named Alois Trancy. He too had made a contract with a demon named Claude. Many new obstacles were then formed and I will not tell you what they are as I will ruin it haha.

The World God Only Knows Season 1, 2 & 3

This anime starts revolves around a high school boy named Keima who devoted himself into playing dating games on his PSP. He plays them everywhere he goes whether it is in the bathroom on during classes. His teachers were done trying to make him pay attention in class as he would not listen to them and as he keeps scoring good marks in tests. In the gaming world, he is known as a God who completed many dating games and would always manage to win his target's heart. One day, he received a email requesting his help. The request states that he must be able to win over girls hearts. Keima took this as a challenge and accepted the request. Little did he know, the request was actually a form of a contract. Unknowingly, he made a contract with a demon named Elsie.

She explains to him that she comes form the new hell and is on Earth to collect loose souls who have escaped. These loose souls hide in the hearts on girls and they feed on their sadness. In order to capture them, Keima has to make those girls fall in love with him. (bear in mind that in reality he his known as a geek and not a God) Keima refuses to do so has he had never held hands with a girl before let alone date one. Elsie then says that if he breaks the contract his head will blow up along with Elsie's. So he has no choice but to follow what the contract states.

Soon Elsie moves into his house telling Keima's mother that she's her daughter scaring the hell out of her. Many events took place during this anime. Keima managed to extract 17 loose souls from 17 different girls making each of them falling in love with him. The only depressing part in this is when the loose souls are extracted, the girls would loose their memories.

Season 1 & 2 were pretty much normal. The climax reached during season 3 as a new objective was formed. It was to find the Jupiter sisters - Diana, Apollo,Vulcan, Mars, Minerva and Mercury, who were goddess who once sealed the evil spirits away but since the seal has been broken, they landed on earth; taking refuge in the girls heart.

They are not like the loose souls who feed on sadness, instead the feed on love and the more love there is in a girls heart, the stronger they'll grow and when they become strong enough, they'll sprout wings. The twist in this is that these Jupiter sisters did not land in some random girl's heart. They landed in the girls that fell in love with Keima. These girls with a goddess in their heart were able to remember the relationship they had with Keima. Overall, this anime was surprisingly interesting and very humorous. The ending of season 3 left me with some questions. Who did Keima actually fall in love with? What happened to the goddesses? and so on so forth. It was sad that Keima didn't get to be with the one he likes although I am not sure who it is he likes as he made so many girls fall in love with him. But, there is one particualr girl who fell in love with him without Keima actually trying. it was sad to see her cry. BUT, this show is definitely deserves a thumbs up!

Kuroko no basuke

This anime was a really big hit for girl basketball players in my school. I finally decided to check it out. It is A-MA-ZING. I watched season 1 a month or two ago and finished it. I started watching season 2 after my exams last month and stopped halfway. I got distracted by watching other anime.

First off, the characters. This anime is all about basketball based on it's title. I like the fact that they made the main character come out later and not at the start of the anime. I also like that they made the character have an interesting personality. The title of the anime is Kuroko no Basuke. As you can see, Kuroko is the name of the main character. To be honest, the main character doesn't really stand out much and take the spotlight but supports the team. I like this fact very much.

The story goes as a high school named Seirin tries to recruit new students to join the basketball club. The captain of the basketball school team is a guy named Hyuga and the coach is a girl named Riko. They both were in charge of the sign up booth. The other players who were in the basketball team were Hyuga, Teppei Kiyoshi, Shun Izuki, Mitobe, Koganei and Tsuchida.  They are all second years in high school. This also includes the captain and the coach. 

On the first day, a guy named Kagami appeared in their school asking to sign up in the basketball team. His height was 190 cm. the players of the basketball team were intrigued that he was joining the team as well as shocked that he was joining the team. Kagami is original from japan but he spent most of his life in America. He played street basketball in America and is quite skilled at it.

On the same day itself, Kuroko went to sign up to be in the basketball club. He came from Teiko middle school. Teiko middle school was known for it's winnings as well as the five prodigies in the school. Kuroko wasn't one if the five prodigies but he was the 6th phantom member of the team. Kuroko has very little presence which makes him less noticible to other people. When he signed up for the basketball club, Rika and Hyuga didn't notice that he was even there until later.

Soon, Kagami and Kuroko met. Kuroko has a unique style of playing basketball. He isn't skilled in shooting or dribbling. His main strength lies in his passes as well in his misdirections. He can change the balls pathway and direct it to a new one. Most of the players he went up against could never sense him or block him which makes it easier for him to to pass around the ball and later it's course. 

Kagami is very skilled in basketball and always does a slam dunk. He has incredible strength and speed but is very reckless and hot headed. He always need Kuroko to keep him in check. His talents arent in strength or speed but in his jump. He can jump to an incredible height that no one can reach. But, it is not until later that he discovers this talent.

Kagami and Kuroko are in the same class and they don't really get along well at first. But, after a while they got the hang of each other and decided to help each other out to achieve their dreams. Both of their dreams is to beat the five prodigies. Kagami and Kuroko wanted to join Seirin's school basketball team as soon as possible although they were already on the club. Kagami went to Riko who gave him a sign up form and told him to meet her at the school roof on Monday before assembly starts. Riko also did the same thing to Kuroko.

After meeting at the roof, they were also the second years there and Rika made them shout out their dreams and goals that they want to achieve by joining the school team. They all shouted their hearts out but as soon as Kuroko was about to shout using a megaphone as his voice wasn't very loud. But, the school principle appeared and stopped them.

Training soon started for the school team. Since Riko was their coach, she trained them. But before doing that, Riko told them to take of their shirts. They were shocked but did it anyway since she was the coach. Riko has a special talent where she can see their weak points in their body as well as their storing points. With this talent, she can tell then the exercises that need to be done to improve themselves in stamina or strength. After examinations all of then, she reached Kagami and find that his body was extremely well built and found no weakness as it was above average. But, when she saw Kuroko's, she was shocked to see that his body was surprisingly weak and below an average person's strength.

The basketball players in Seirin met a lot of strong players including some of the five prodigies in their practice games. They met Ryota Kise and Shintaro Midorima. Both these players went to different high schools and Seirin got quite a tough game playing with them. Ryota Kise is highly skilled in copying peoples movements. That includes the way the shoot and dribble. Sintaro Midorima is a very skilled shooter. He range of shooting a basketball in the entire court. Which means that he can stand at the end of one court and shoot it to the other end.

There is one part of Kuroko no Basuke which I particularly like. It's when Kuroko met a stray dog and decided to keep him. Riko, the team's coach realised that they both look the same. Kuroko and the dog have the same eyes. They then decided to name the dog Tetsuya No.2. It was hilarious. Kagami seems to be afraid of dogs and won;t go near Tetsuya 2. At one time, Kuroko chases him with Tetsuya 2 in his hands. That was one of my favourite scenes in this anime.

When Kuroko was in middle schoo, their team had a manager named Momoi. She has a crush on Kuroko and visited him when they were practising in the swimming pool. Momoi went to another high school different from Kuroko. She went to Touhou High with another prodigy named Daiki Aomine. She became the manager of that school's basketball team and is very skilled in analysing and predicting their opponents. She can predict their growth and movements and tells her team to make sure that they are prepared.

Soon Seirin managed to enter the Inter-High competition where high schools compete which each other to become the champion. Seirin lost during the semi-finals and did not make it. They trained hard after that and aimed to become champions during the Winter Cup. Another competition where schools compete with each other. But, only the best among the best compete in this competition and Seirin appears to have made it after winning the qualifying round.

Seirin is about to face a harsh competition as they are going up against all five prodigies. All five of them went to different schools. But, all 5 of these high schools already had good basketball players in them.

Serirn managed to get into the semi-finals of the winter cup and will be facing harsh opponents. I finished watching the first and second season of Kuroko no Basuke. The last episode of season 2 is a cliffhanger. The last episode shows that they won against one of the five prodigies and are advancing to the semi-finals. I am excited to see the semi-finals match in the third season which is said to come out in October this year. It's so far away... ಠ_ಠ.
